MCESD 8 Fire Station 11-5
Montgomery County ESD No. 8 constructed a new one-story, two-apparatus-bay fire station of approximately 8,500 square feet, located at 6425 Rayford Road, Spring, Montgomery County, Texas 77386. The project consisted of a two drive-through apparatus bay fire station designed to house five full-time personnel and accommodate Montgomery County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 8 SMC Fire Department staff and crew.
The site encompassed approximately two acres that had not been previously developed, with the exception of a small area containing an existing pole barn. The site was largely cleared of major vegetation but included a significant berm along one side, which was removed prior to construction. The project utilized an off-site regional detention system and did not require on-site detention.
The building included two drive-through apparatus bays with adjacent service areas such as a gear room, laundry room, and electrical room. Interior spaces consisted of five single-occupancy dorm rooms, three separate single-use bathrooms, a watch office, a SAFE room/office, a physical fitness room, and a day room, dining room, and kitchen area with three walk-in pantries. Additional support spaces included mechanical, electrical, data, and storage rooms. A generator was installed to provide emergency power for the entire facility.
