Originally from just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joel Elder developed a strong work ethic and leadership foundation early in his career. While earning his degree in Economics from the University of Maryland – College Park, he gained hands-on experience in commercial construction, beginning as a laborer and building a deep understanding of field operations before advancing into leadership roles.
With more than two decades of experience, Joel has worked across commercial and utility-scale construction, bringing a well-rounded perspective on project execution, team leadership, and safety.
Now based in Weatherford, Texas, Joel joined Pogue Construction and quickly became a valued contributor on a range of educational projects. He holds certifications in CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, NFPA E70, and Procore Project Management for General Contractors, reflecting his commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Joel and his wife, Aubrey, are proud parents to their son, Judson, and stay busy with a lively home full of animals. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, golfing, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with his family.
