A New Era for a Growing Community
On February 28, 2025, Pogue Construction, in partnership with Northwest Independent School District (Northwest ISD), officially broke ground on the district’s fourth comprehensive high school. Located on North Riverside Drive near I-35W and State Highway 170 in Fort Worth, Texas, this new campus is a strategic response to the district’s rapid growth and is planned to open in August 2027.
A Response to Rapid Growth
Northwest ISD has experienced significant enrollment increases, with projections indicating nearly 38,000 students by 2029. To address this, the district proposed a $1.9 billion bond in May 2023, which voters approved. This bond funds the construction of 12 new schools, including High School #4, and other facilities to accommodate the growing student population.
State-of-the-Art Campus Features

The new high school is designed to serve approximately 3,200 students within a 730,000-square-foot facility. Key features include:
- Athletic Facilities: A 7,500-seat varsity football stadium, a 3,200-seat athletics arena, two auxiliary gyms, an indoor practice facility, weight rooms, and fields for baseball, softball, and tennis.
- Fine Arts and Academic Spaces: A 1,200-seat theater, fine arts classrooms, a cafeteria, media center, core academic classrooms, and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) academy.
- The design emphasizes student connectivity, engagement, and community integration, aiming to create a cohesive environment that supports both academic and extracurricular activities.
Pogue Construction’s Commitment
Pogue Construction, a McKinney-based firm with a strong track record in educational projects, is leading the construction of High School #4. The company has previously completed projects for Northwest ISD, including V.R. Eaton High School and the Northwest ISD Aquatic Center. Pogue Construction is dedicated to delivering high-quality educational facilities that meet the evolving needs of Texas communities.
Community Impact
The addition of High School #4 will alleviate overcrowding at existing high schools—Byron Nelson, Eaton, and Northwest—ensuring that students have access to quality education in modern facilities close to home.
