EVP of People Development

Megan Forbes serves as the Executive Vice President of People Development at Pogue Construction, where she leads the company’s talent strategy with a focus on hiring, training, engagement, and retention. She believes people are Pogue’s greatest asset and is passionate about hiring and developing world-class talent to support the company’s mission and long-term growth. With a background in public education, Megan brings a unique perspective to workforce development, emphasizing the importance of nurturing and retaining top talent in the construction industry. She oversees retention and recruiting strategies, company-wide training, performance management, and the Quality Management System, including all standard operating procedures and document control. Megan also leads a comprehensive Pogue Wellness Program that integrates physical, mental, and spiritual health initiatives. She also leads company-wide communication efforts, women’s connection events, and administrative operations.

 

Before joining Pogue, Megan spent a decade in public education, teaching multiple grades in a local district and serving as an assistant principal. She holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University and an M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy from Southern Methodist University. Megan is also a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach, applying her expertise to foster a strengths-based culture within the organization.

 

Under her leadership, Pogue Construction has implemented comprehensive retention plans and development programs to support employee growth and satisfaction. Her commitment to excellence was recognized when she was honored as a 2023 Women in Business Honoree by the Dallas Business Journal.

Megan and her husband, Neil live in Dallas with their daughter, Eloise.

 

Megan loves to exercise, travel with family, and plan special events for friends and family.
