Contract will be a single general construction contract for construction of Phase 02 construction at Melissa High School approximately 65,000 gross square feet.The work includes expansion of the existing Fine Arts building to provide spaces for Choir, Percussion, Theatre, Scene Shop and associated support spaces such as offices and storage. Two art rooms will be added and will share a paint booth and storage room. A large part of the Fine Arts Building scope will include the addition of a 1,000 seat Auditorium with full fly loft, lobby, control rooms and back of house support spaces such as dressing rooms and storage spaces. The existing Student Union Building will be expanded to provide additional seating for 150 students. The seating expansion will result in the relocation of an existing chair storage and renovation of an existing coffee bar. The existing Athletics building will add a second practice gym to its footprint with telescoping seating, gym storage, and public restrooms. Boys basketball locker rooms, showers, and Coach’s office will be added. Phase 02 will also include associated site improvements for these additions as well as student and staff parking as required.
