Gateway Church, a thriving community of faith in Texas, has recently announced its plans to expand to Frisco, a city located in the fast-growing north of the state. The church, which was founded in 2000, has experienced unprecedented growth over the years, with over 30,000 weekly attendees in worship services every weekend. The expansion project aims to help the church accommodate the rapid growth of the local community and its congregation by providing them with a space to worship, connect, and serve.
The project is community-focused, with amenities aimed at meeting the needs of the local communities as well as the church’s congregation. Each campus shares similar amenities, such as coffee shops, playgrounds, and outdoor community spaces, all focused on reaching out to the community. These spaces have been designed to be inviting and welcoming, providing a comfortable atmosphere for socializing and connecting with others. The expansion also aims to support programmatic development and offer unique opportunities for interaction and experience.
The building has been designed to cater to community gatherings through multiple avenues and flexible programs and spaces that will evolve with the needs of the community and the church’s changing culture. The facility’s lifestyle components have been designed to be multifaceted, allowing for future growth and change options with minimal impact on the campus’ structure. The project is being delivered through an integrated project delivery (IPD) process by Parkhill, a leading architecture and engineering firm. This process will provide Gateway Church with an additional mechanism to understand and manage its project budget and schedule, ensuring that the project is delivered on time and on budget. The church is looking forward to the main campus master plan moving forward after the pandemic, providing a space for the community to connect, worship, and serve for years to come.
