Pogue Construction is the selected General Contractor for Gateway Houston Renovations. Work consists of interior building finishes including new floorcovering, tile, paint, millwork, acoustical ceilings, wood doors and hardware, glass and glazing, and updated MEP.

This is an Integrated Project Delivery project. Several of our major scope trade partners have been working for over a year with the design team (Parkhill), Owner (Gateway) and Pogue Construction throughout the design process. The project has an unprecedented proactive teamwork mindset, that all contractors must adopt. We will utilize lean construction methods as well as pull planning throughout the duration of the project and expect all our trade partners to participate in these activities. Our goal is a well-organized, exceptionally managed project where coordination and teamwork are performed at a high level.

Generally, the Project consists of a new administration building for the School District that includes offices, a Board Room, and training rooms. In addition to the District’s administration, departments that will housed in the new facility include Human Resources, Tax, Police, Curriculum and Instruction, Student Services, Purchasing, Payroll, Accounting, Worker’s Compensation, and Grants. Sitework includes storm water detention, underground drainage, concrete paving, planting, and irrigation. The structural systems include a concrete slab on grade; suspended concrete floors; steel columns, beams, and joists; and tilt-up concrete panels. Finishes include painted, gypsum board partitions, carpeting, resilient flooring, and suspended acoustical board ceilings.

The project consists of the construction of a new 160,267 square feet elementary school for 1200 students on a 26.1 acre tract to replace the existing George A. Thompson Intermediate School. Sitework includes grading, storm drainage, playfields, reinforced concrete parking and driveways, fencing, and landscaping and irrigation. The structural systems include drilled and underreamed piers, concrete grade beams, concrete slab on grade, and a steel frame. Exterior walls are masonry veneer and metal panels with masonry and steel stud backup. Interior partitions are of CMU and gypsum board on steel studs. Finishes include carpet, resilient flooring, ceramic tile, quartz flooring, natural stone, paint and suspended acoustical ceilings. Dry marker boards, tackboards, toilet partitions, aluminum walkway covers, acoustical panels, kitchen equipment, casework, and horizontal blinds are also a part of the Work. The project also includes new HVAC systems, electrical systems, fire sprinkler system, and plumbing systems
